Edson Arancis do Nasimento, known worldwide as Pele, will remain forever under the definition of a football legend.
And today (Friday) the man who won countless successes celebrates his 80th birthday, and rekindled the wave of admiration towards him.
The Brazilian who is almost always caught smiling, is written in the history books thanks to being a pioneer, thanks to his many goals, thanks to three World Cup victories - the first at the age of 17!
And yes, also thanks to his personality.
Pele, who was an athlete, politician, consultant and most of all a role model, is gaining world-wide affection when he reached heroism, and the never-ending debate over who is bigger - he with Diego Mardona - is on the sidelines today.

"What am I asking for myself in honor of my 80th birthday? To be present at the World Cup games in Qatar in 2022," he told the Brazilian media, as befits one of the kings of the World Cup.
The reason for this wish lies in his health condition, which prevented him from reaching the previous World Cup in Russia in 2018.
Meanwhile, he is celebrating his 80s at home, in the isolation required due to his age and morbidity in the world, but he is inundated with congratulations and appreciation from fans.
He was awarded a new mural in Santos, made by the artist known as "Cobra".
FIFA has launched a special page for him on Twitter, the Football Museum in Sao Paulo has also commemorated the event and of course plenty of congratulations flow into it.
