When the women's national team meets England next Tuesday (4pm), memories of last November will come back to life.
The selection of national coach Martina Voss-Tecklenburg had won 2-1 against the English women in front of almost 78,000 spectators at Wembley Stadium.
Due to the corona pandemic, only 50 spectators will be admitted to the repeat in Wiesbaden.
After all, the DFB women will already know that they will be at the 2022 European Championship in England.
Since pursuers Ireland lost 0: 1 (0: 1) in the Ukraine in the evening, the record European champions as leaders in qualification group I with a five-point lead can no longer be caught.
The selection of the German Football Association (DFB) has so far achieved the maximum yield with 18 points from six games.
Ireland only has to play the home second leg against Germany on December 1st.
Only the nine group winners and the three best runners-up qualify directly, the remaining runners-up play in play-offs for three more EM tickets.
The European Championship, which has been postponed by one year due to the corona pandemic, will take place from July 6th to 31st, 2022.
The defending champions are the Netherlands, Germany have won the title eight times so far.
