This weekend, the Gladiators have to face two title contenders.

On Friday the Erdinger are at the EHC Klostersee, on Sunday the EHC Waldkraiburg comes.

Erding - The Erding Gladiators have two very big boards to drill this weekend, because they are against top teams who are among the title contenders.

Tonight, coach Thomas Vogl and his troop will drive to Grafing to the EHC Klostersee (8 p.m.), on Sunday (6 p.m.) the EHC Waldkraiburg will be visiting the Erdinger ice rink.

Both opponents are currently in third place with equal points.

“Klostersee is a tough one,” says coach Vogl.

“They are a well-rehearsed group that is very difficult to play.

The EHC practices simple, hard, uncomplicated ice hockey - we always struggle with that. ”Besides his brothers Philipp and Nicolai, Raphael Kaefer, Florian Gaschke, Gennaro Hördt, goalkeeper Dominik Gräubig and above all Bob are outstanding players in the team of coach Dominik Quinlan Wren.

The now 46-year-old veteran is an outstanding face-off player and a strategist in power play.

"We have to accept the fight and play cleverly," demands Vogl, who is happy that he has three blocks available again, as all those who have been hit are back.

Erdings gang leader regrets that he recently accused the association of inaction.

“I criticized the BEV for having to find a way to cancel the game, but did not notice that the association had already sent out information to the clubs.

They don't always go to the trainer ”(see column in the margin).

He is certain that “the BEV will try everything to ensure that the games are run fairly”.

That is why none of his players will stay at home because of Corona, as was the last case in Schweinfurt.

"We will go to all games and will compete everywhere, regardless of the value," promises Vogl, who fully trusts the opposing clubs.

"The hygiene concepts in all the stadiums where we have played so far were great," the Gladiators trainer stated.

"You can still play ice hockey there."

Regarding the Sunday opponent, Vogl says: “The Waldkraiburg are more likely to succumb to us because they are more about playing.” The majority of the team have been playing together for a long time, similar to in Erding.

An advantage could be that he was the Lions trainer not so long ago and knows most of the players.

"I expect high-class, offensive ice hockey with lots of goals," predicts Vogl, who after Miesbach calls Waldkraiburg "the best team in the league".

"But we can stand up to any opponent."

The Gladiators trainer believes: “It will be a great derby weekend with great games.

It's a shame that more spectators are not allowed, because the hut would be full for both games. "
