"I did not suffer from any symptoms or get sick, but simply received a positive answer to my test, and the truth is that I was very surprised," Jordan Mickey says in an interview with Walla!

sport.

"The group prepared a personal work plan for me, so that I could keep fit during the isolation. So it turned out that I trained in the apartment, and yes, I was also quite deaf about Netflix."

Moscow Khimki is the main victim of the corona plague among Euroleague teams.

While others suffered outbreaks of the virus but did not show up at all for some of the games and eventually got a second chance to win in full force, it traveled around Europe in a patchwork quilt, paid dearly for it and slipped to a 4-0 balance.

Now that most of the injured and the carriers have recovered, the Russians understand how significant the home game tonight (Friday, 20:00) against Maccabi Tel Aviv is.

In Mitishchi, the summer did everything in its power to build a diverse and deadly environment alongside Alexei Sheved, and perhaps to free herself a little from the excessive dependence on him, which ultimately affected her in years past.

To that end, beyond leaving Yannis Tima, Jonas Jervko (as the Swede calls himself), Devin Booker, Dairis Bartans and Stefan Jovic, she has armed with another guard scorer in the form of Eric McCollum and two of Europe's best offensive chins - Mickey and Greg Monroe.

But the circumstances, as stated, severely harmed her.

Sheved (injury) will only make his Euroleague season debut today;

Monroe contracted Corona, and yesterday just came out of isolation, so he, too, has not played yet;

Mickey, Tima and Yevgeny Voronov turned out to be carriers after the opening round;

And McCollum arrived late for Russia and has only just signed up for the squad, so maybe he will be the rabbit that coach Remas Cortinaitis plans to pull out of the hat against Maccabi.

"It was hard for me to see on TV the teammates appearing in such a missing lineup and having a hard time facing the rivalry," Mickey admits.

"We built a strong team, and we suffered from bad luck. We were too short. I understand that this season is part of the matter, and I assume that all the teams will have to deal with similar situations at one point or another.

" What's more, "adds the chin with the obliging name," it's frustrating that we did everything To put eight players in place, thinking we would not suffer a technical loss, and suddenly this week they decided to change the law and give another chance to teams that did not appear. "

- Where is this season going?

" At the moment it does not look good.

The Euroleague tries to maintain a routine, but cases pop up almost every day and in all sorts of places.

I hope they find a solution, but the managers must understand that we do not want to endanger our families with this virus. "

His index this season is higher than that set by Alexei Sheved last year.

There were also bright spots in the hallucinatory state created in the group.

Jarbako and Boker took the reins, and the big surprise came from the direction of Slava Zaitsev (31), a 1.6-point player in his previous five seasons with the Euroleague elusive, who shone with 14.8 points, 70.4% for two and 6.5 assists.

Remarkably, its efficiency index (20.5) is even higher than it was for the liver last season, and it is currently ranked fourth in the factory.

But now comes the test of Cortinaitis, who will have to find a way to integrate the players who have returned to activity, without eliminating Zaitsev and the like.

Sheved, Mickey and Tima returned this week for the home VTB game against Astana, and the surprising loss in that squad put the whole system under pressure.

While the Latvian and American were quite anemic, Shebed immediately returned to his magnetizing dominance, scoring 19 points and handing out 12 assists, but also hitting 2 of 11 for three.

Jarbako's numbers plummeted, and the one who continued to star was Morning (30 points and 15 rebounds).

And who will celebrate tonight?

Judging by the first four rounds, one of the players from Himki is going to shoot quite a few threes with a high percentage tonight.

This is what happened to Maccabi Tel Aviv in all its games: forwards Vladimir Luchic and Sasha and Zankov were accurate in 4 of 5, and guards Mike James and Marcus Erickson in 4 of 6 and 4 of 8 respectively.

"We have a good team with good players, and we will now start building the chemistry so that the substitutes will also continue to find their place and contribute their share," Mickey is convinced.

"It may take us a few weeks to regroup. I don't think it will take me long to get back to myself. I feel ready and fit, and the training during the week has been good for me as well."

"We must not think of the pit we have fallen into."

Mickey (26, 2.03) became acquainted with the Euroleague two years ago, when he played for Himki, after three seasons in which he failed to fit in with the Boston Celtics and the Miami Heat. At the end of a successful rookie season he was promoted to Real Madrid, but this summer he surprisingly returned to his previous team. "Maccabi has approached my agent several times over the years, and when we considered the options I had other options, which we thought were better. Himki is a great place for me. I love the city, the residents and the people in this club."

- Is not it difficult to play alongside a scorer in the style of Shevad, who throws so much?

"Listen, he's really rare in talent, and can do whatever he wants with the ball. I only see advantages in having such a partner on the team. He's also not one who doesn't give up.

- In the home games against Panathinaikos and Zalgiris Kaunas, you were allowed to bring in a limited number of fans (780 on average), but you will meet Maccabi in front of completely empty stands.

"I'm one who plays for the crowd, and feeds on the energies that come from the stands. It's very difficult to get used to playing without a crowd. But what can be done? This is the world we live in right now, and we need to be professionals and have to adapt."

- The balance, 4: 0, did not put you in too deep a hole for the fights for the ticket to the playoffs?

"We must not look at the balance we have now, and think about whether we have been harmed. The game against Maccabi is a big game for us. We have to win at home and start starting."
