Horse racing: The rising star across the Channel is a woman. Her name is Hollie Doyle

She is only 24 years old and could well become the first jockey of the fairer sex to land in the years to come the British equivalent.

Is Hollie Doyle on the way to becoming the epigone of the best English jockeys, or even the best British jockey at all?

Without predicting her future, it is clear that this Irishwoman is already having a breathtaking career.

And its 2020 season marks a new stage.

For the first time, a woman's name, hers, appears in the “top ten” of the best pilots across the Channel.

And the little princess of the British continues to gain ground on her male colleagues.

To date, she holds third place in the Jockey's Championship, the equivalent of the Golden Riding Crop in France, and has even been selected by The Sunday Times to claim the title of Sports Personality of the Year.

This shows the level of its current performance.

Not content with setting a new record of victories for a woman (116) last year, Hollie Doyle has already done better this season with 123 victories.

But last October 17 marked a new turning point in the young career of the little blond girl with blue eyes.

At the legendary Ascot Racecourse, Hollie Doyle won two races in one of the most important meetings of the year.

First in the British Champions Long Distance Cup before doubling the bet half an hour later in the Sprint Stakes.

By winning for the first time in a Group I (highest level), it fully justified the choice of the BBC, which had received the night before at the opening of the television news.

A media spotlight which only reinforced the popularity of the young woman;

First jockey of a Persian Gulf stable

And this is not the only feat of arms of the young lady.

Last summer, the daughter of Caroline and Mark Doyle, a couple of jockeys, already stood out by winning five of the nine races in the program at the Windsor racecourse (United Kingdom).

A few days earlier, she signed an original equipment contract with the prestigious Imad Al Sagar jacket.

An unprecedented collaboration which made her the first woman to become the number 1 jockey for a renowned team.

As the Kuwaiti owner declared to our colleagues at Jour de Galop.

“I am delighted to add Hollie Doyle to our team.

We have all been impressed with the progression of Hollie, who has become one of the best jockeys in the business.

[…] We have some great horses to race this season and I can't wait to see Hollie become a staple of our team.

"

After such compliments, to say that the little girl who started with pony races at age 9 is on the rise is an understatement.

But a precursor sign already announced the potential and the will of the miss.

At 16, Hollie Doyle won in her first race as an amateur, but at 18 she was injured in the race.

Only ten days later, she resumed her place in the pelotons.

A talented and tough jockey as appreciated by English racers.

Behind this dream route hides a beautiful “love story”.

His companion, Tom Marquand (22), is none other than the jockey who triumphed on October 17 at Ascot in the most coveted event of the program, the Champions Stakes.

The two lovebirds walk at the same pace and for several years.

They frequented the same pony clubs and started out as apprentices with trainer Richard Hannon.

As the song says, love gives wings and can take them to the heavens.
