Thumbs up for the camera.

Oliver Zeidler can smile again.

Two weeks ago, the 24-year-old finished fourth in the world championship and failed to defend his title in the single. On Saturday, the man from Dachau was awarded the Bavarian Sports Prize by laudator Miriam Neureuther (30) in the BMW Welt.

Zeidler was honored together with Ramona Hofmeister (24) in the “Ambassador of Bavarian Sports” category.

While Zeidler accepted the award personally, the snowboarder could only be switched on via video from quarantine.

Teammate and world champion Selina Jörg (32) had previously tested positive for the corona virus.

Triathlete Anne Haug, who received the award for her Ironman victory in Hawaii in 2019, was also happy.

"If someone had told me that 17 years ago when I started my sports studies here, 200 meters further on, in the Olympic Park in Munich, I would have declared him crazy," said ex-student Haug in her acceptance speech.

"I understand the award on behalf of my entire team, without whose work this would not have been possible for so many years," said the 37-year-old from Bayreuth.

With her floor-length pleated skirt in turquoise, the black lace top and the wide leather belt, she clearly stole the show from everyone else present.

Also the stars of FC Bayern, who were celebrated as a triple winner.

Leon Goretzka (25) and Joshua Kimmich (25) were also praised for their private initiative “#WeKickCorona”.

You feel like you've done something right, ”explained Kimmich.

Ex-Bayern professional Bastian Schweinsteiger (36), on the other hand, was “only” honored for his extraordinary career as a footballer.
