2020-10-26T11:38:57.878Z

The 2018 world champion swept on Instagram a crazy rumor announcing that he was stopping playing for the France team to protest against Emmanuel Macron.

The international midfielder of Manchester United and the France team Paul Pogba formally denied this Monday on

Instagram

wanting to stop his international career with the Blues, thus putting an end to a rumor born on Sunday.

This suggested that the recent statements by Emmanuel Macron, following the tragedy of the assassination of Professor Samuel Paty, would have pushed the player, of Muslim faith, to end his career with the Blues.

Relayed by The Sun

Initially released by an Arab media, the false information had been relayed by certain English media including

The Sun.

"Paul Pogba would apparently have taken this decision following remarks which he considers an insult to himself and to Muslims in France", one could read in the British tabloid.

This Monday, Paul Pogba cut this rumor short by posting

a message

on his

 Instagram

account

that has the merit of being clear: “Unacceptable fake news”.
