Eran Zehavi left his tenure at Guangzhou R&F behind, but China seems to be missed - not only for him, but for a string of stars who left the league next to him.
Sandro Wagner left Tianjin, Job al-Kaabi the Moroccan abandoned Hebei, and Stefan Sharawi sought to leave Shanghai Shenhua, but was eventually forced to stay against his will.
"Obviously the Chinese league is slowly losing more and more stars on a global scale. The main reason for this is the dysfunction of the clubs, which are run in neighborhoods," China wrote today (Tuesday), citing Zahavi's case as an example.
"For four years, Zahavi was the undisputed star of Guangzhou R&F. He helped the club put a stake in the bundles, but when he left China in September to join the Israeli national team, it was clear he would not return. "The club ended in an explosion. His transfer to PSV Eindhoven was accompanied by a big mess. Guangzhou R&F refused to release him, Zahavi complained to FIFA, and then stung the team in media interviews."

"He claimed that the conduct of Guangzhou R&F was improper, and he was 100 percent right," they added.
"He is not the only star to leave a Chinese team under similar circumstances. Axel Witsel also left Tianjin after FIFA intervention.
Zehavi's departure is another sign that the Chinese league will no longer be able to rely on big stars with huge salaries in the future, but will have to move to a format in which local players lead.
It could seriously hurt Chinese football. "
