The SpVgg has the best lawn in the 3rd division.
According to the evaluation criteria of the DFB, the conditions for playing and winning there are perfect.
SpVgg Unterhaching receives the
"
Pitch of the Year
"
award
for the best green in the
3rd division
The
DFB
hopes that the new "competition" will provide better space in professional football in the third division.
The decision is based on a three-pillar concept and a point scale.
Munich
- The
SpVgg Unterhaching
has won the first title of the season.
But this is not the autumn championship, but an award for the
best lawn in the 3rd division
.
In recent years, the DFB has awarded the clubs with the best turf in the
Bundesliga
and 2nd league.
This year, for the first time, this prize will be awarded to a club in the 3rd division.
3. League: Better turf means better game
This campaign is called
"Pitch of the Year"
.
The
German Football Association
(DFB)
aims to
improve the quality of the turf with this.
Since the condition of the playing field in particular is often decisive for the course of a game, the turf has an important role in football.
A trend in recent years even shows that better lawn quality also leads to better performance.
When deciding who will receive the title of lawn king, those responsible at the DFB follow a so-called
"three pillar concept"
.
DFB decides according to the three-pillar concept
First, the
club's own action
plan for weather-related events is assessed, in which the clubs have to follow a model action plan presented by the DFB.
Subsequently, the
focus
is on the
cooperation between the clubs and teams and the DFL
.
Meetings and training courses that have also taken place in cooperation with the 3rd league are decisive there.
Ultimately, however, the so-called
greenkeeping tool
decides
on the winner.
After each game, the two generic team managers and the referees decide on the
quality and texture of the turf
.
They follow a point system:
9/10 points: excellent
7/8: good
5/6: average
3/4: bad
1/2: very bad
SpVgg Unterhaching with an excellent lawn
Finally, all individual assessments are included in the result.
SpVgg Unterhaching received an average of 9.1 points and is therefore the winner with an "excellent" turf.
FC Ingolstadt (8.8) and
FSV Zwickau
(8.5)
are just behind the Hachingers
.
The award will be presented by DFB official
Manuel Hartmann
.
Haching's
Vice President Peter Wagstyl
and Greenkeeper boss
Peter Lindermayer
accepted
the award
before the game against
TSV 1860 Munich.
