He thought he would run faster than the fight against doping.
The latter finally caught up with Christian Coleman.
The reigning 100-meter world champion has been suspended for two years for breaches of his anti-doping whereabouts obligations, the Athletics Integrity Unit announced on Tuesday.
He will therefore miss the next Tokyo Games (July 23 to August 8, 2021).
The sanction had been running on the American for many months.
On December 9, 2019, Christian Coleman (24) missed a third check, after those of January 16 and April 26 of the same year.
Thanks to his lawyers, he finally got out after contesting and was able to participate in the Doha Worlds.
The Disciplinary Tribunal has upheld the AIU's charge and banned sprinter Christian Coleman of the USA for 2 years for 3 Whereabouts Failures in a 12-month period, a violation of the @worldathletics Anti-Doping Rules.

His suspension will end on May 13, 2022, which a priori will not deprive him of the Worlds in Eugene (Oregon), postponed to the summer of 2022. Also titled in the 4 x 100 meters relay in Doha, he has two medals from world silver (over 100 and 4 x 100 m in 2017).
Coleman holds the world record for the 60m indoor (6''34).
