Nano Ginzburg received Czech citizenship today (Tuesday) at a ceremony held in Prague with the participation of Israel's ambassador to the country and local officials.
The 57-year-old coach has been working in the Czech Republic since 2006 and has been coaching the national team since 2013, when in recent years he has also been in charge of all the young teams.
Citizenship has been granted by local authorities under Article 16 of the Constitution, which allows for the award of a certificate to citizens born in foreign countries following a special contribution to the country and adding respect to it in the international arena.
Ginzburg told Israel Today: "It is a great honor for me. Granting citizenship shows the appreciation I receive here for all the years in the team and in the groups and for promoting the youth in the youth teams and in the local youth departments."
