The idea, which is backed by a number of leading leagues, is likely to be implemented during 2022, when Jordi Bartomeu, the resigning president of Barcelona, ​​has already claimed that the Spanish league has given its consent to the promotion of the Super League.

In England, too, the top teams are enthusiastic about the idea, but there are those who fear it will be at any local cost.

"Leagues in Europe are not able to compete economically in the Premier League so they want to set up the Super League, which could ruin the English league," warns Arsene Wenger.

The former Arsenal manager does not understand the enthusiasm of teams such as Liverpool, Manchester United, Manchester City and Tottenham.
