LE SCAN SPORT - Accused of wanting to "strangle" his girlfriend in 2019 during the US Open, the seventh player in the world has publicly defended himself and denies any violence.

On the ATP circuits, Alexander Zverev saw a rather successful end to the season after a difficult recovery at the US Open and then at Roland Garros with two back-to-back tournament victories in the space of two weeks in Cologne.

Outside the courts, however, the German crosses an area of turbulence with the attacks of two ex-companions in the media.

Former model Brenda Patea revealed in the German press that she was expecting a baby from him.

The young woman claims to be 20 years pregnant but specifies that she "will not share custody", wishing "to raise alone" her future child.

On Instagram, Brenda Patea supplemented her statement by stating "to have good reasons" for not sharing custody but these "are private."

"He tried to strangle me with a pillow, hit my head against the wall and twist my arms"

In the process, a former girlfriend of Alexander Zverev came out of her silence to bring serious accusations against the German, still via social networks.

Olga Sharypova reveals in a long message that she has been "a victim of domestic violence" on several occasions.

The Russian recounts in detail a scene that occurred after an argument in August 2019 in New York while the US Open was being held.

“I ran out of the hotel barefoot, beaten.

I was standing on a street in New York City and didn't know where to go or what to do.

He tried to strangle me with a pillow, bang my head against the wall and twist my arms ”, she reveals before specifying that if it“ was neither the first nor the last time that 'a hand was raised on me during a romantic relationship ”, she had, that day, been“ afraid for her life ”.

A few hours later, the young woman confirmed her words in a long interview, adding that there had been "a lot" of situations of this type.

The Russian did not hesitate to provide the media with screenshots of her exchanges by SMS, with supporting photos, addressed to her friends to whom she told the altercation.

The couple would have reconciled the next day, then finally separated a few weeks later.

Olga Sharypova would, to date, not have lodged a complaint, just wishing to "make known" this information.

“I will be a father at 23.

And I can't wait to see the child ”

Gripped by these revelations, Alexander Zverev came out of his silence on social networks to respond to these two former girlfriends.

Recognizing that "the last days had been difficult", the player was initially happy to become a dad.

“I will be a father at 23.

And I can't wait to see the child.

Even though Brenda and I are no longer together, we have a good relationship and I will live up to my responsibility as a father. ”

He denies allegations of violence

He then mentioned that he denied the allegations of domestic violence made by Olga Sharypova, considering that they were “unfounded”: “I very much regret that she makes such statements.

Because these accusations are simply not true.

We had a relationship, but it was long over.

Why Olga is making these accusations now, I don't know.

I really hope that we will find a way to treat each other in a reasonable and respectful way again. ”
