Simon Terodde saved Hamburger SV from a derby bankruptcy with his double.
Despite the striker's two goals, the second division leader in the city duel with FC St. Pauli only scored 2: 2 (1: 1) and had to give up points for the first time in the sixth game of the season.
In a turbulent final phase, Terodde (84th) made the equalizer late and made his fourth brace of the current season perfect.
Rodrigo Zalazar (35th) and Simon Makienok (82nd) had previously turned the game for FC St. Pauli.
Terodde had initially scored 1-0 for HSV in front of 1000 spectators in the Volksparkstadion.
Emotionally charged and fast-paced, intense and atmospheric: the 104th edition of the game was tough.
HSV dictated the events for long stretches of the game, but did not use their chances consistently enough.
Terodde was unlucky with a header on the post (19th) and moved twice in the second half from a promising position (60th and 66th).
Meanwhile, the brown-whites annoyed the unloved city rivals again: Last season, HSV lost both duels against St. Pauli 0-2.
Fortuna Düsseldorf took the first step out of the crisis in the 2nd Bundesliga.
The relegated Bundesliga defeated 1. FC Heidenheim 1-0 (1-0) on Friday and celebrated their second win of the season on matchday 6.
Heidenheim continues to play a disappointing season.
Marcel Sobottka (33.) scored in the ghost game for the initially unsettled Fortuna, who tried to control.
That succeeded, but the attacks rarely brought danger in a tough duel away from Sobottka's perfectly hit shot from twelve meters.
Nevertheless, a clear improvement compared to the most recent 0: 3 at Hannover 96 could be seen in the use of Düsseldorf.
Captain Adam Bodzek replaced Luka Krajnc, who was ill with Corona, in central defense alongside Kevin Danso, who was last suspended.
