In 1973, Charles Talar was present alongside Daniel Hechter, Francis Borelli and even Jean-Paul Belmondo when PSG really launched its history in French football.
This Friday, the capital club announces his death, which occurred in Lisbon (Portugal).
Born Charles Tahar, in Sousse (Tunisia) in 1941, he notably fulfilled the role of vice-president of the club from the mid-1970s. He remained close to PSG until the end, knowing all the times.
“He was a great enthusiast, a very funny, generous and very professional man, pays tribute to him his friend Alain Cayzac, former president of PSG (2006-2008).
Above all, of all the club leaders I have known, he was one of the most familiar with football.
He took part in several recruiting operations, whether under Francis Borelli or at the time of Canal +, in particular to bring in Artur Jorge and Ricardo in 1991 ”.
Beyond his role as a leader, Simon Tahar's brother (lawyer, leader, president of PSG) was a recognized music producer.
He notably contributed to the famous musical “Notre-Dame-de-Paris” and to the careers of Johnny Hallyday, Francis Cabrel or Mike Brant.
Very sad to learn of the death of Charles Talar, here with his checked jacket in the arms of Just Fontaine.
In 1973, Charles was one of the buyers assembled by Daniel Hechter to save @PSG_inside.
