The Formula 1 team Alfa Romeo will again rely on Kimi Räikkönen and Antonio Giovinazzi as regular drivers in the coming season.
The racing team announced the extension of the contracts with both drivers before the race in Imola on Sunday (1:10 p.m., TV: RTL and Sky, live ticker SPIEGEL.de).
This means that there will be no free cockpit for Mick Schumacher at Alfa Romeo in the coming year.
It was recently speculated that the 21-year-old son of Formula 1 world champion Michael Schumacher could make his debut in the premier class with the team in 2021.
If it did, it would probably be at the Haas racing team.
The US team does not yet have a driver under contract for the new season.
Haas has a technical partnership with Ferrari.
Schumacher is trained in the Scuderia driver academy and leads the Formula 2 overall ranking shortly before the end of the season.
Alfa Romeo opted for continuity with the former world champion Räikkönen and the Italian Giovinazzi.
The 41-year-old Finn Raikkonen last contested his 325th Grand Prix in Portugal, no racing driver has more starts in Formula 1. The coming year will be his 19th season in the racing series.
The team is "like a second family" for him, said Raikkonen.
The 26 year old Giovinazzi is also sponsored by Ferrari.
Alfa Romeo is also supported by Scuderia with engines and technical assistance.
