"Our intention is to build a very ambitious and competitive project," said Pont. "We want to continue the legacy of Johan Cruyff and the coaches who know his style best are Pep Guardiola and Xavi. "Today, we need to bring them back and make sure the project is competitive."
Guardiola's contract at Manchester City will expire at the end of the season, but the coach is in no hurry to return to his quarry and the team with which he achieved every possible title as a player and then as the most successful coach in the club's history.
Xavi coaches very successfully in Qatar and was a candidate to return to the team already after the dismissal of Valverda, but he preferred to stay at Al Saad to gain more experience.
And what about Ronald Koeman?
Pont was earlier interviewed by Cadena Sir and said that if he is selected, Coman will not stay anyway, regardless of Barcelona's results this season.
"Even if Koeman has a great season, I will not change my plans. If I am elected president, Koeman will not be incredible next season," he said.
