The Syrian national basketball team defeated the Volga Academy team with a score of 101/91 points in its first test match in the training camp currently held in Kazan, Russia, as part of its preparations for the resumption of the Asian qualifiers.

American coach Joe Salerno spoke with the players after the match, expressing his satisfaction with what they had presented, saying, "According to the small number of training sessions that we have conducted so far, the performance is acceptable .. You showed good energy in defense since the beginning of the second quarter, which helped us to stop them."
