The Starbulls Rosenheim have won their last preparation game before the season of the ice hockey Oberliga Süd, which starts on November 6th.

With the exclusion of spectators, the green-whites retained the upper hand in the home ROFA stadium against the Höchstadt Alligators 7: 3.

The league competitor, which had significantly increased in terms of personnel compared to the previous season, took the lead three times and was still 3-2 in front at the second break, before the Starbulls also put their superiority on the scoreboard in the last part of the game.

The most conspicuous player in the Rosenheim jersey was Enrico Henriquez, who scored three goals.

The other goals for the home side were scored by Kevin Slezak (2), Kyle Gibbons and Tobias Meier.

Starbulls coach John Sicinski sent 20 field players onto the ice.

Enrico Henriquez and Alexander Höller stormed alongside Michael Baindl.

The second storm row formed the two import players Curtis Leinweber and Kyle Gibbons with Kevin Slezak.

In the third offensive block were Tobias Meier, Dominik Daxlberger and Sebastian Stanik, while the fourth row consisted of the youngsters Florian Maierhofer, Philipp Lode and Kilian Steinmann.

In defense, Maximilian Vollmayer formed a pair with Florian Krumpe, while Dennis Schütt played with Florian Kolb.

Tobias Draxinger with Michael Gottwald and Simon Heidenreich with Benedikt Dietrich were the other defensive pairs.

In the goal of the Starbulls stood Andreas Mechel - and at first he had no less to do than opposite Benjamin Dirksen.

In the 8th minute, the Rosenheim keeper was lucky that the German-Czech Jiri Mikesz, who was criminally free in the slot, just missed the case.

In return, Henriquez failed, clearly shown, from close distance to Dirksen.

In the power play Slezak, Schütt and Gibbons (13th / latte) had the Starbulls lead on the racket, before Schütt gave away in front of the guest keeper (15th).

The goal a few moments later was therefore quite surprising.

Mechel fired an oblique shot forward and Eric Schuster quickly made it to 0: 1 (16.).

In the case of two underpowered situations, the hosts held themselves harmless, while even in the second part of the game they demonstrated multiple high power play quality.

In the 26th minute of the game, Slezak took care of the well-deserved equalization from close range, after Gibbons submitted from the pass he had won.

In another Rosenheim outnumbered game, the guests from the Aischgrund could not free themselves for the full two minutes and, in addition to a strong goalkeeper Dirksen, also needed a lot of luck not to fall behind for the first time.

But the HEC was offensive, using the Czech striker Milan Kostourek's first chance to score in the second third to make it 1: 2 (36th), with the Rosenheim defensive being inattentive during the preparatory cross pass.

Henriquez had a suitable answer ready and used a solo effort in a minority to 2: 2 (38th), after he failed in an adequate situation a few seconds after the start of the second part of the game to Dirksen.

But even in the same majority situation, the guests managed to take the lead with a concealed shot by Jari Neugebauer from half-distance to third (39th).

In the last third it took exactly 60 seconds before the Starbulls were able to equalize for the third time.

Krump pulled away from the blue line and Henriquez gave the disc in the slot the decisive change of direction in order to let it spin into the goal to 3: 3 against the perplexed goalkeeper Dirksen.

The first Rosenheim opening goal emerged from a remarkable one-two.

Gibbons pushed the disc through the suspenders after Slezak passed the goalie through the suspenders - 4: 3 (46th).

In a subsequent confused game episode with few opportunities, Tobias Meier, who had moved from Füssen to the Starbulls, was responsible for an exclamation point by increasing to 5: 3 after a high defensive lack of concentration (53rd).

A highlight of the game was a “Big Save” by Starbulls goalkeeper Mechel against Koustirek (55th).

In the last minute of the game, the Starbulls screwed up the result within 25 seconds.

First, Slezak placed the game device in the majority from the wrist unbearable under the crossbar, before Henriquez effortlessly refined a Rosenheim “one-touch play” against a now completely inconsistent defense from Höchstadter to the 7: 3 final score.

The Starbulls Rosenheim thus close the preparatory phase with a sense of achievement.

Next Friday, the first day of play will be on the agenda of an unusual league season due to the pandemic.

The Starbulls are then guests at the Blue Devils Weiden.

Two days later, the green-whites meet the Höchstadt Alligators again in the ROFA stadium at home - again in front of empty stands, but then in the battle for points.
