The Boxing Federation continues to implement its plan that it put in place two months ago to activate the game's activity, which has been absent for many months in the current season due to the Corona pandemic that struck the local and international sports activity calendar.
With the approaching end of the current year, our boxers ’preparations are heading strongly towards next year's entitlements to make up for the local and foreign championships they have missed.
President of the Boxing Federation, Kamel Shabib, said in a statement to the representative of Sana Sports, “About two months ago, the federation started a local training camp for the Syrian team in Damascus in the framework of preparing the players and restoring their technical and physical level after a shallow sports season that passed by the Syrian boxing due to Corona and has witnessed intensive training that amounted to about 75 training Including experiences and friendly meetings, and will continue until the fourth of next month.
Shabib added that the camp continues until next Wednesday and in the interest of the Game Federation for the success of the training process and the safety of the players with minor injuries, the players were given a rest for several days, indicating that in the framework of developing the level of players more and increasing their skills, the Union is heading during the coming period to establish an external training camp for a team composed It is held in the Russian city of Kazan for men and boys
On the local level, Shabib clarified that the federation will resume its activities in qualifying cadres through a training and promotion course for old trainers in Daraa, which will start next Monday with the participation of 22 students, followed by a similar course that will be held in Deir Ezzor in conjunction with the Republic Championship for the junior category, in addition to other courses for referees.
And before the Corona pandemic infiltrated global and local sports, our team participated in the Arab Junior Championships since the beginning of this year in the State of Kuwait and finished third in the general standings with 9 gold, two silver and five bronze medals.
