The disturbing factor of dementia in ex-footballers

The latest case, that of the mythical Bobby Charlton, increases the pressure for the rectors to investigate what is happening


Two days after the death of Nobby Stiles, the aggressive midfielder of the English team that won the 1966 World Cup, Bobby Charlton's family has reported the state of dementia suffered by the legendary footballer, Stiles' partner with England and Manchester United.

Six players on that team have died: Gordon Banks, Jack Charlton, Wilson, Nobby Stiles, Alan Ball and Martin Peters.
