Kai Havertz was the fifth German national soccer player to test positive for the corona virus.
This was confirmed by team manager Frank Lampard shortly before the Champions League game between Chelsea FC and Stade Rennes on Wednesday evening.
The 21-year-old went into domestic isolation.
Before Havertz, Ilkay Gündogan, Emre Can, Serge Gnabry and Niklas Süle had tested positive.
Havertz and Süle are likely to fail for the international three-pack against the Czech Republic, Ukraine and Spain.
The use of Can is questionable.
National coach Joachim Löw will name his squad on Friday.
