The pitch in Unterhachinger Sportpark has been awarded the Pitch of the Year in the 3rd division by the German Football Association (DFB).
The prize was awarded for the first time this year.
Unterhaching - Haching's Vice President Peter Wagstyl and the club's Greenkeeper Sepp Lindermayer accepted the trophy.

SpVgg Vice President Peter Wagstyl is proud of his club's award and explains: “In 2018 we started to set up our own greenkeeping team.

We want to continuously develop and improve here in order to offer all our teams optimal conditions. "
The DFB has created a three-pillar concept with the aim of improving the quality of the turf.
Pillar one comprises an action plan for weather-related events to be submitted by the clubs.
A model action plan is made available to the clubs as a basis and as support.
The second pillar is meetings and training courses for greenkeepers from the German professional leagues in cooperation with the DFL.
Last year, the third division clubs also took part for the first time.
The third pillar is the so-called greenkeeping tool - and this is decisive for the Pitch of the Year award.
After each game, the team managers of the clubs and the referees use the greenkeeping tool to rate the lawns using a point system.
