Klopp warns about the infernal rhythm of the matches: "You kill the players!"

2020-11-09T09:33:11.983Z

Different coaches point to the lack of preparation of their group and the hectic schedule this season with the Covid-19.

“We're going to kill the players.

We have no phase to recover, not enough time to prepare.

Without preparation, everything is fragile.

It is not an excuse, it is the truth ”, hammered again recently Thomas Tuchel, evoking the accumulation of matches.

And PSG saw, after the match against Rennes on Saturday 3-0, its list of injured people grow with a total of 12 names absent.

(Neymar, Mbappé, Icardi, Sarabia, Draxler, Verratti, Bernat, Kimpembe, Gueye, Kehrer, Florenzi and Kean).

The truncated preparation after the Final 8 in the Champions League and a very short break, may have accentuated the injuries of PSG, but the club is not the only European club to see its infirmary fill up.

Others like Liverpool, who were not part of Final 8, will have to do without managerial players for the entire season (Van Dijk).

This Sunday during the Manchester City-Liverpool meeting, the Reds also lost Alexander-Arnold, hit in a calf.

And the spectacle offered in the second half during this match highlighted the fatigue of the players, especially as the battle involved two large European cars.

A rule of three changes that does not pass

A problem which would be due in part to the rule of three changes introduced again in England which has recorded a 42% increase in muscle injuries this season.

“It's a lack of leadership.

If 14 teams do not agree to the five changes, this rule could at least be allowed for the top six of the championship if they wish, ”Klopp insisted after the match.

Same story for Pep Guardiola, who criticizes the difference established.

“This league likes to be different, I don't understand how the Premier League understands the situation.

When I was younger I already remember reading the same comments from Sir Alex Ferguson or Arsene Wenger complaining about that.

The televisions must decide even if I do not think that the situation will change, “lamented the Catalan coach.

"The television decided so"

And the former Bayern coach does not really lull in optimism for the next deadlines, while the international truce, and the many trips it generates for internationals, is coming.

“My business is to protect the players, they are exhausted, regretted Guardiola.

LeBron James won the NBA title and now he's been on vacation for a month or two.

Our guys have eight days.

We have matches and more matches because television has decided that way ”.

While the league has already rejected Jurgen Klopp's proposals, will the League federation dare to clearly put the subject back on the table?

Where is it for the clubs, ultimately, to adapt and know how to rest their players themselves?
