District – In an appeal to politicians, the DFB is committed to re-allowing training in amateur sports, at least in the open air in organized children's and youth areas.

Münchner Merkur asked some clubs how those responsible stand on this question.

Matthias Schmidt, Head of the Football Department TSV Ottobrunn: “In my opinion, it would be ideal for the children and young people to train in small groups, like after the first lockdown.

They can't hide there, you can see who is training with whom, everyone is recorded.

Why shouldn't that work now?

They sit together for eight or nine hours at school and then at home at the console instead of pursuing their hobby, which has been proven to not happen.

We try to keep them engaged with tasks and small competitions, for example with a running group on WhatsApp.

Since they push each other.

But we would also be in favor of being allowed back on the pitch.

Because we lose time in training.

A lot would be gained even with small groups of four children.

The community is also important.

The human being is a community animal, even small groups bring something.

The boys need that at that age. "

Klaus Heydenreich, spokesman for HT München: “We represent a uniform point of view for the youth handball sector in Unterhaching and Taufkirchen.

The health of the members is the top priority.

It is assumed that the risk for children is lower, and in the first lockdown we had a very elaborate hygiene concept in which, for example, the small groups of the youngest were divided again.

But we just stick to the rules, because as a large club we have a role model function, even if there are of course always discussions.

Training outdoors would be difficult in handball at the moment.

We did it in the summer, there was an opportunity and it was very well received.

But now this form runs nowhere.

Ultimately, it's about jogging, the children can do that on their own.

We hope that you can train again in December, handball games are already suspended until the end of the year.

There are alternatives; training plans are sent via WhatsApp.

With my daughter, who plays in the D-Jugend, I noticed that she was sending video snippets of her workout to the group, which gives the girls a certain communal experience when they see: one of them is also jumping rope, one of them other situps.

They enjoy it.

It is practiced in a similar way in all teams. "

Dennis Petersen, youth leader of FC Deisenhofen: I am torn.

At the beginning of the Berlin resolutions, I asked Florian Weißmann, the association's youth leader, whether the association could stand up for training.

But he said with so many games being canceled, it wasn't an option.

Now, in my opinion, training is something different from a game because it is manageable, and most clubs have very good hygiene concepts.

And I have children myself: they need exercise.

If the parents don't get their children out into the fresh air, we have a long-term problem.

It might work out here in Deisenhofen, but in Munich I imagine it will be difficult.

Organized sport is imperative for three reasons: firstly because of the health disadvantages that otherwise arise, secondly because we are losing a large part of the development and thirdly because there is a risk that the clubs will lose members.

On the other hand, we cannot assign 75 percent of the infections.

I don't think football is responsible for this, but I do believe that the government is trying to take care of our health as well as possible.

So you should go along with them when she says you have to reduce contacts.

That's why I see it mixed up.

Incidentally, this is also the tendency among parents.

Some say: what can be done to make the training possible.

Others are more cautious, for example they would not let their children train in the hall at all.

But I have the feeling that in general parents want their children to do sports in their free time.

One could discuss the age limits.

When they are 15 or 16, they can jog alone, which is not possible with a seven-year-old.

As an alternative, we at FCD also have a video platform that we developed during the first shutdown.

However, experience shows: It was hype at the beginning, then it falls asleep at some point. "

Lars Frederick, female youth volleyball director at TSV Unterhaching: “In the interests of the children, I would basically be in favor of continuing the game and training operations.

Unfortunately, team volleyball can only be practiced outdoors to a limited extent, especially in the winter months.

Especially in the younger age groups U12 to U14, there are only two, three or four players on the field at the same time in a team.

In addition, volleyball is not a direct contact sport, as the teams are separated by a net.

Also, the players are usually not directly next to each other and often automatically keep a certain distance.

If there were, for example, ten participants per third of the hall, there would be a good 20 square meters per participant.

That is much more than the students normally have in a school class.

A ventilation break would also not be a problem.

We didn't have any infections during training, all infections came from outside.

So I don't see a significantly increased risk of infection in youth training.

Training can certainly be carried out with appropriate hygiene concepts.

Our players draw their motivation from joint activities.

Those who come to us are explicitly looking for the community of a team sport and want to experience it.

The children learn so much from us about the terms consideration, team, supporting the strong, taking responsibility, self-organization.

These are important core elements and tasks of popular sport - especially in youth training!

Most parents would prefer to continue training with appropriate hygiene concepts rather than complete lockdown, as we have now.

Of course, everyone is free to decide for or against taking part in the training under the given circumstances, but the vast majority of children continued to like to come to our training.

The parents trusted us here. "

Enrico Tzschoppe, deputy head of the athletics department and trainer of the U14 and U12 at TSV Unterhaching: “We think this initiative is very good and we hope that it will be successful.

In principle, we are also in favor of resuming club training.

Of course, due to the current situation, it is only possible with restrictions.

May and June showed that it works when we trained in small groups with hygiene measures and distance rules.

That worked extremely well and was gratefully accepted by the parents, but above all by the children.

Club training is very important for the children.

Not only to exercise, but also to maintain their social contacts in the club.

When we started again in May, the kids were so happy.

They got back into training with a lot of enthusiasm and they came even when it was pouring rain.

The main thing is training again.

Training is definitely possible on the sports field, in small groups and with a shorter time.

Training in the halls is difficult, but also possible.

You could take 20 minutes of the 90 minutes of training time for ventilation times, for example: Start at 4.40 p.m. instead of 4.30 p.m. and end at 5.50 p.m. instead of 6.00 p.m., then ventilate the halls and start the next group at 6.10 p.m. instead of 6.00 p.m. and end at 7:20 p.m. instead of 7:30 p.m. and so on.

So we are basically of the opinion that club sports should take place again subject to conditions and would also support this. "
