Diego Maradona's family leaves hospital after emergency surgery (from Twitter)
At a good and successful time, Diego Maradona is due to be released from the hospital in the coming days and begin his rehabilitation.
The legendary former player was hospitalized last week due to anemia and dehydration, but a number of past tests revealed a blood clot in his brain, which required emergency surgery.
"It may have been the most difficult moment of his life," said his lawyer and good friend, Matthias Morella.
"I think it was a miracle, that they found the blood clot that could have killed him. Thank God these dangers were gone, thanks to the doctors' intervention. Luckily, he feels better now and is already waiting to recover in the best way possible."
Maradona is scheduled to continue to a rehabilitation clinic, alongside family and close friends.
"His condition is good," Morella said.
"He needs support. He was very happy with the treatment he received at the hospital and wants to be released today. We all need to think about the most important thing of all - Diego's health. There will be a list on the door with anyone authorized to visit him."
