Almost a tragedy earlier this week in Portugal.
Lucky almost only.
Portugal youth team player Bruno Tavares was rushed to hospital on Sunday morning after being accidentally shot by one of his friends.
The 18-year-old, who is considered a future prospect of Sporting Lisbon, has survived and there is no fear for his life.
Tavares has made 38 appearances and nine goals for Portugal's various boys' and youth teams and is considered one of the most promising players at Sporting Lisbon's academy, which last May signed him to a contract until 2025.

According to local media reports, Tavares was traveling with friends in the vehicle of one of them.
When they stopped at a gas station, one of them pulled out a gun to be proud and show to his friends.
The same friend was apparently not in the operation of the device and a bullet was fired at him that hit Tabars' chest.
The talented footballer was rushed to Garcia de Orta Hospital in Lisbon, where he underwent emergency surgery.
Luckily, the bullet did not hit vital organs and his life was saved.
The shooter, by the way, fled the scene and police forces began searching for him.
