The entire team from Bundesliga soccer club TSG Hoffenheim has gone into quarantine "until further notice".
The club announced this on its website.
The club is thus reacting to new corona cases that have recently become known.
On Tuesday it was announced that offensive players Robert Skov (Denmark) and Munas Dabbur (Israel) had tested positive on their national teams.
Israel's international match against Norway in Oslo that evening was canceled and Dabbur was isolated.
According to TSG, new tests at the Bundesliga team have produced three new positive results.
According to the club, these are Sebastian Rudy, Ishak Belfodil and a member of the coaching team.
Another test shows an ambiguous result and must be repeated.
Even before that, the club had been badly affected.
Striker Andrej Kramaric, who has already scored six Bundesliga goals this season, was last used on the 3rd match day.
"For months we have meticulously and conscientiously adhered to the hygiene concept"
"We cannot explain the accumulation," said TSG director of professional football Alexander Rosen: "We have been following the hygiene concept meticulously and conscientiously for months. So we got through the pandemic for months without a single positive case, which is now hard on us . "
The club is in communication with the health authorities.
Last week, Hoffenheim played in the Europa League against the Czech club Slovan Liberec, which was missing 15 players due to the corona.
The next Bundesliga game for TSG is on November 21st against VfB Stuttgart.
In the league in which TSG is 13th after seven match days, there have been numerous corona cases so far.
An accumulation like in Hoffenheim has not yet been known.
Only Werder Bremen had put their team in quarantine, if only as a precaution: for a short time and on a voluntary basis.
