The golf ball hit three times - not on grass, but on water. Then he hopped on the green and rolled into the hole: The Spaniard Jon Rahm managed a magic stroke in training at the Masters in Augusta.

Have you ever tried to throw a stone towards the water so that it bounces over the surface?

Not that easy at all.

Spain's golf star Jon Rahm did something much more difficult on Tuesday.

Two days before the start of the 84th Masters tournament in Augusta, he deliberately let his ball dance flat over the lake during training.

The golf ball touched the water three times, then hopped onto the green - and rolled into the hole.

The ball was on the move for around 20 seconds, a special class hole-in-one.

The world number two succeeded on his 26th birthday.

The organizers of the Masters tweeted a video of the art stroke, by the morning it had been viewed more than 18 million times:

"Second hole-in-one in two days - happy birthday for me!" Commented Rahm on the spectacular clip on Twitter.

He had already hit an ace the day before, but not with such a water ball.

Before the actual Masters tournament, it is part of the ritual for the players to let the ball bounce over the lake during training.

Getting that done is difficult enough.

Hitting the ball along the surface of the water and still placing it in the hole is a rarity.

Normally thousands of spectators would have cheered and celebrated, but due to the corona pandemic, no fans are allowed in Augusta.

"Just imagine the din that would have been there in a normal year," said golf star Rory McIlroy when he heard about Rahms magic.

At the actual Masters, which lasts from November 12th to 15th, Rahm is one of the favorites.

Last year, Tiger Woods sensationally won the traditional tournament.
