The AFC has announced new dates for the Asian qualifiers for the 2022 World Cup and the 2023 AFC Asian Cup in China.
The AFC said in a statement on its official website: “The Competitions Committee has agreed to complete all second round matches of the Asian Qualifiers by June 15, with the seventh and eighth round matches to be held in March and the ninth and tenth rounds in June 2021, with the final round matches to start in September 2021.”
The federation indicated that after coordination with the International Federation of Football Association, the third round matches consisting of 10 rounds will be completed by the end of March 2022, provided that the Asian and World Attaché matches will be held in May and June 2022, where the Asian supplement will be one match.
The AFC pointed out that the committee approved the application process for hosting the AFC U-23 Finals 2022, as the tournament was scheduled to be held in 2022 in China as part of preparations to host the 2023 AFC Asian Cup finals, but the Chinese Football Association informed the AFC of its unwillingness to organize The tournament.
