Danny Abdia, the 19-year-old prodigy from Maccabi Tel Aviv and the one who threatens to become our greatest basketball player of all time, will be selected in the NBA Draft (Wednesday-Thursday, starting at 2:00, live updates on Walla! Sports) and will actually start his career in the best league in the world .
Five Israeli players have already been selected in the NBA Draft, the annual event in which 30 teams select selected young players from around the world - Doron Sheffer was the first somewhere in 1996, followed by Lior Eliyahu, Yotam Halperin, Omri Caspi and TJ Leaf.
But none of them carried on their backs expectations like Danny Abdia's.

Who are you, Danny Abdia?
Abdia is a descendant of a lineage of athletes.
He was born in Kibbutz Beit Zera to Sharon Artzi, a former basketball player, and Zofar Abdia, a former Serbian basketball player who became a citizen of Israel.
From a young age, he stood out, and when he was in seventh grade, he moved to the youth department of Maccabi Tel Aviv, the club that raised and nurtured him prior to moving to the United States.
When he was 16, Abdia, who, like his father, holds Serbian citizenship alongside Israel, faced a crossroads: he was offered to play for Serbia's youth team, but in the end preferred Israel's blue and white
In the following years he broke through in all settings: led the cadet team (up to the age of 16), swept the reserve team (up to the age of 20) to win two European championships, was a partner in winning three championships with the senior team of Maccabi Tel Aviv, and recently was named player of the season Of the Premier League

How It Works?
The draft is the annual event in which the 30 teams in the NBA select the best young players from around the world

What next?
If Abdia is indeed selected in one of the first ten selections in the draft, he is expected to earn sums that are not recognized at all in Israeli basketball.
The amount of NBA players' first-season contracts is rising almost every year, and Abdia is expected to benefit greatly from it: if he is selected Friday, for example, he is expected to earn a salary of $ 3.4 million in the first season, which will gradually rise to $ 4.1 million in the second season and 4.8 Million a million in the third season
