Netherlands coach Frank de Boer criticized the need for the friendly matches that took place yesterday (Wednesday) across Europe in light of the overcrowding of league games on the continent.
The Oranges finished 1-1 against the Spanish team in a game that took place in Amsterdam when during the game Nathaniel Aka, the Manchester City stopper was injured and will immediately return for tests with the English runner-up.
"I don't think this game should have been held," de Boer said in the post-match campaign. "Money is a very important thing but we need to keep the players as well.
"Everyone who cares about it needs to sit down and talk because the health of our players is important, everyone agrees on that and decisions have to be made," he added.
