The Atlético footballer made his debut against the Netherlands and followed in the footsteps of his father Paco Llorente and his grandfather Grosso.

Marcos Llorente has played his first minutes with the Spanish National Team shirt in the game against the Netherlands.

At 25, the Atlético player has fulfilled one of his dreams and has fulfilled a family tradition.

He jumped onto the pitch in the 72nd minute. With his debut he has elevated his family as the second grandfather-father-grandson saga to defend the colors of Spain.

His father Paco Llorente, also a former player of Real Madrid and Atlético de Madrid, came to wear the elastic on one occasion.

It was on November 18, 1987, in a match against Albania, where he scored a goal.

Paco Llorente had followed in the footsteps of his maternal grandfather Ramón Grosso.

Deceased in 2002, Grosso was a symbol of Real Madrid in the mid-60s and early 70s. First as a forward, but later he went down to midfield.

It was international arriving to dispute 14 parties with the Spanish Selection and it marked a goal.

Curiously, he also has another link with Atlético de Madrid.

In the 63-64 season he was transferred to Atlético in the middle of it, which at that time was struggling in the First Division classification.

So many that Grosso became one of the basic pieces for Atlético to save the category.

Llorente's is the second grandfather-father-grandson saga of the National Team.

The first is composed of Marquitos, Marcos and Marcos Alonso.

Until today they were a unique case in Spanish football.

Marcos Alonso Imaz 'Marquitos'

(1933-2012), the grandfather, won five European Cups as a defender for Real Madrid, being international a couple of times.

His son,

Marcos Alonso Peña

, played 22 games for La Roja during the 1980s. He played for Barcelona and Atlético de Madrid.

The saga was rounded off by

Marcos Alonso Mendoza

, Chelsea's grandson and current player.

Lopetegui made him debut with the National Team in March 2018. In total, he has played three games with the National Team.
