The corona virus has the ice hockey league south under control.

Two clubs have already confirmed positive cases, two others are reporting suspected cases.

This ensures various game cancellations.

HC Landsberg, opponents of SC Riessersee last Tuesday, is one of these four clubs.

  • Four teams from the league report positive test results

  • Four out of six games on Friday are canceled

  • SC Riessersee carried out rapid tests on Friday afternoon

First Lindau, then Rosenheim, Landsberg and Höchstadt and the ice hockey league south has sunk into chaos.

"The events are rolling over and over again today," emphasizes Pana Christakakis, managing director of SC Riessersee.

The reason is of course Corona.

Because the EV Lindau Islanders started on Thursday evening.

The team from Lake Constance announced that 14 players and one staff member tested positive in a series of tests.

The consequence: All Lindauer games in November have been canceled, including the duel with the SCR, which was planned for November 17th.

“We cannot explain the accumulation,” explains Bernd Wucher, chairman of the Islanders on the club's Facebook page.

"We have been following the hygiene concept meticulously and conscientiously for months, and have also taken into account the spatial separation in the three cabins." The Starbulls Rosenheim, HC Landsberg and Höchstadter EC followed on Friday.

All three clubs also reported positive test results.

Three actors are affected in Rosenheim.

Like the Lindau team, the Starbulls team has also gone into quarantine.

It looks a little different in Landsberg with the Riverkings and in Höchstadt with the Alligators.

There is only talk of suspected cases.

So far, the clubs only have the results of rapid tests.

One positive result followed for the Riverkings and two for the Alligators.

These are now checked using PCR tests.

As a precaution, the games scheduled for Friday have already been canceled.

And what does that mean for the people of Riessersee, who hosted the Landsbergers on Tuesday?

All clubs that had contact with teams with positive cases in the past week were required to carry out quick tests before the games.

Today at 11 o'clock Christakakis asked all men to take a test.

The results are reassuring: "All negative," the managing director announces happily.

So today's game can take place at the Selber Wölfen (8 p.m.).

Not much is left of the game day.

Six games were scheduled, only two will be played.

The Passau Black Hawks (opponents of Rosenheim last Tuesday) play it safe and have canceled the duel in Memmingen.

Schedule on Friday

8 p.m .: Blue Devils Weiden - EV Füssen

8 p.m .: Selber wolves - SC Riessersee

Höchstadter EC - Eisbären Regensburg canceled

HC Landsberg Riverkings - EC Peiting canceled

ECDC Memmingen - EHF Passau Black Hawks canceled

Deggendorfer SC - Starbulls Rosenheim canceled
