Yam Madar in the Combine Challenge ahead of the NBA Draft (from YouTube)
A particularly busy week is facing NBA fans.
Even before the draft that will take place on the night between Wednesday and Thursday and the opening of the free agent market between Friday and Saturday, there may be very significant developments in the league.
According to Adrian Wojnarowski, the trade window in which teams will be allowed to complete barter deals on players will open as early as Monday afternoon US time (Monday late evening Israel time).
One of the first deals to emerge involves new champion Los Angeles Lakers.
According to ESPN and Athletic, the Lakers have agreed a deal with Oklahoma City to move Dennis Schroeder to Los Angeles.
The 27-year-old German center-back may replace Rejon Rondo, whose contract has expired and it is unclear whether he will continue despite the good season he has given and despite the excellent connection between him and LeBron James.
According to ESPN, the Lakers will likely move Danny Green and the 28th pick in the upcoming draft in return.
Another deal on the table is James Harden for Brooklyn.
Sports Illustrated already reported yesterday on the start of contacts between the Houston and the Nets, but tonight ESPN's Adrian Wojnajowski confirms: Harden is indeed considering continuing his journey in Houston, placing Brooklyn at the top of his list of priorities.
Arden is reportedly excited about the possibility of playing with Kevin Durant and Kyrie Irving, but Houston is determined to try to persuade him to stay, and has yet to open talks with any team regarding a trade on him.
Other stars who may move to other teams are Victor Oladipo who is determined to leave Indiana, Jero Holliday who may move from New Orleans, Chris Paul who is set to leave Oklahoma City, and Damar Druzen who may end up in San Antonio.
Marcus Aldridge was also mentioned as a candidate to trade in from the Spurs.
Either way, the early opening of the trade window could greatly affect developments around the draft.
