Water, water, bunker, water, bunker, hole missed: Golf star Tiger Woods experienced a disaster on the final day of the 84th Masters - precisely on the hole where he laid the foundation stone for his triumphant comeback a year ago.
The 44-year-old defending champion maneuvered the ball into the water hazard three times on the legendary twelve holes of the Augusta National Golf Club.
For the par 3 hole - none of which is shorter on the course - Woods needed ten strokes in the end.
A negative record for the 15-time major winner: never before had he needed more attempts at a hole in his career on the PGA Tour.
"If he had brought his swimming trunks with him," scoffed the AP agency in their message about Wood's mishap.
A successful title defense had been unrealistic even before that.
Woods is currently on a shared 47th place with one stroke over par.
Dustin Johnson is currently in the lead (17 strokes under par).
Last year Woods sensationally won the prestigious Masters after not having triumphed in a major for 14 years.
He also owed the comeback to his performance on the very hole he missed so often.
