After long weeks of speculation, rumors and murmurs, Danny Abdia's big moment is finally coming.
Tonight (Wednesday to Thursday, from 2:30, live updates on Walla! Sports) the young Israeli talent will know which team will select him in the NBA Draft, and where he will start his career in the best league in the world.
His friend Yam Madar, who signed his name for the draft, hopes to be one of 60 prospects that league commissioner Adam Silver will name, but naturally most of the focus is on Abdia - who is considered by many to be the most talented Israeli basketball player in the industry's history.
Less than 24 hours are left for the traditional annual event, which was supposed to take place in August but was postponed by three months due to the corona virus and will even be held in a different format and online - without all the regular ceremonies that accompany it.
Abdia, who is considered one of the most talented players in the cycle, is expected to be selected in the top ten, with more specific reports placing him on the scale between the fourth and eighth picks.
As every year, this time too the draft is expected to be dynamic and fluid, making its prediction quite difficult.
When it comes to the draft, the prophecy was given to the whips, which is doubly true in the 2020 draft, which unlike previous drafts does not include a clear favorite to be selected first.

As of Wednesday morning, it appears that Elections 1-3 are not within reach for Abdia.
These selections are supposed to be filled by those in the NBA who are considered the top three talents in the draft - coordinator Lamello Bull who recently played in the Australian League, shooting guard Anthony Edwards who comes from Georgia College and center James Weissman who managed to play only three games in Memphis College uniform.
Early estimates matched her loss to Chicago, the team that holds the fourth pick in the draft.
All along, the Bulls seemed very interested in the loss, with the successful record of the new president of the club, Arthuras Karnishovas, with young European players, supposed to work in favor of the Israeli forward.
But even with less than 24 hours left, the biggest draft experts in the United States admit that the intentions of the Bulls are unknown.
Karnishovas and his team have kept the cards close to their chests all the way through, and in the United States have been dealing for the past day with the possibility that they are cooking a surprising choice.
According to recent reports, the surprise may be the selection of Florida State College Small Forward Patrick Williams.
A senior league official was even quoted last night on NBC as saying: "The Bulls have promised Patrick Williams that he is their man in the fourth pick, so they are not trying to make a trade for a higher pick."

If the Bulls do not pick Abdia, there is a fairly high probability that he will reach Cleveland, which holds the fifth pick.
The Cubs have become an NBA Israeli stronghold in the last decade: Omri Caspi played on the team for two years at the beginning of the decade, David Blatt coached it with great success until he was fired in 2016, and currently works in its ranks Liron Fanan, daughter of former Maccabi Tel Aviv manager Moni Fanan Player development and international scouting of the team.
According to senior NBA commentator Kevin O'Connor ("The Ringer"), "Abdia will not fall below the fifth pick," but in the draft as in the draft, there is no certainty about anything.
Atlanta, Detroit and New York, which hold picks of 7, 6 and 8 respectively, may also choose to lose, but by tonight there may well be trades that will give other teams a choice in the top ten, which could change the cards.
Such a trade could land Abdia in a more senior team: for example, Golden State may make a barter deal in which it will receive a lower choice - which it may take advantage of to select Abdia, which reportedly made coach Steve Kerr "thrilled" by his talent.
Boston, too, is still trying to get a high pick, possibly even a top five pick, which might pave the way for its loss there.
The possibilities are many and varied, and unlike some of its counterparts, Abdia does not rule out any of them outright.
"Getting to the NBA - for any team - is a dream. I really have no preference to get to a particular team. All I want is to get to a team that will trust me and allow me to develop into the best version of myself," Abdia said in US interviews ahead of the draft.

Either way, whether he is selected in the top five or pushed to a slightly lower pick, the big question mark surrounding his loss in the NBA will be around his shooting from the outside. Abdia Dyke last season was just 27 percent off the arc in the Maccabi Tel Aviv uniform in the Euroleague, and his penalty percentage throughout his career is less than 60 percent - which for many NBA teams is a warning light and may even prevent him from becoming a full-fledged player in the league.
Abdia promises that the problem will be solved in a short time. "I think it's a matter of time before I get over 70 percent of the penalties," he said recently. "It's all in my head. I'll get there, even if I have to throw 3,000 free throws at 12 at night to do it. My throwing technique is good, and I feel like sometimes I forget I'm young. I played in a team with a lot of experienced players, with a lot of pressure, with a lot of Fans. I played a few minutes. Sometimes a lot, sometimes less. It made me ups and downs in shooting from the outside. Towards the end of the season I felt much more with my shooting. My confidence went up, and my teammates trusted me more. I can score, I've a great shot. "I could not score, I would not throw threes. But I am always convinced that I can score."
One thing is for sure - the next 24 hours will be critical to the continuation of Danny Abdia's career. Any unexpected development that brings him to a group that believes less in him may prevent him from breaking out. If he reaches the right team and lands in the right situation - this may be the opening shot for the most impressive career of an Israeli athlete ever.
