Hertha BSC versus Borussia Dortmund in the Bundesliga

2020-11-22T07:44:13.458Z

The Berlin bliss lasted just as long until Erling Haaland took off and scored four times. After the break, BVB overcame a Berlin defensive that was in good shape in the first half - and made Moukoko happy.

Exertion before reflection:

The football year turns into a long home straight at a rapid pace.

For Borussia Dortmund it was the first of ten competitive games in 31 days.

The flood of games will gnaw at the substance, and the necessary rest periods for the players will be missing.

So beneficial away wins come in handy.

Four-pack in Norwegian:

The 20-year-old Erling Haaland, who returned to Dortmund earlier than planned due to a corona infection in the national team, undoubtedly took the lead in this game with his number seven, eight, nine and ten goals of the season.

It was his first four-pack in the Bundesliga.

How he did it, he was asked by the reporter after the game.

He replied that he had a Red Bull at halftime and got wings.

After this strategically ill-advised revelation, it was clear that he was showing the more mature performance on the field, not off.

The result: a

few days after the international break, BVB won the Saturday evening game 5: 2 (0: 1) in an initially uncomfortable, later overwhelmed Berlin Hertha.

Read the match report here.

The first half:

it wasn't really tingling, the initial phase.

BVB got into the game slowly against Hertha, who had probably looked up the term “compact defensive” in the football dictionary.

After a long tee shot, the ball landed over Dodi Lukébakio at Matheus Cunha.

The Brazilian took the lead from around 20 meters away.

The superior BVB, 61 percent possession, missed a big chance seconds before the break when Raphael Guerreiro did not complete himself after a nice combination, but dropped again on the surprised Haaland.

One to be amazed:

Youssoufa Moukoko also belonged to the black and yellow tour group to Berlin.

And not only that: the striker, who celebrated his 16th birthday yesterday, made his debut in the Bundesliga today.

No one was younger than him.

Moukoko is an exceptional talent with the potential to inspire, that became clear in the five minutes in which he was allowed to participate.

Without a goal, but fast, ball safe and with a big smile on his face.

A trend

: in the 2002/03 season the average age was 27.1 years, in the 19/20 season it was 24.2.

Bellingham, Wirtz, Musiala, Reyna and Moukoko are the names of the descendants of the league who are endowed with astonishing early maturity.

A promise

that has

not (yet) been kept

: The eyes at Hertha rested on Krzysztof Piatek before the game.

After the failure of Jhon Cordoba, the attacker should finally demonstrate his whole class.

Despite a hefty transfer fee of 23 million euros, Piatek has only been a substitute so far and in the game against BVB the Pole was alienated with his new environment.

The second half:

BVB offered what the inclined viewer can expect from a runner-up.

Less than two minutes were played, when Haaland pushed in after Emre Can's cross and the previous ball relay (47th).

Another two minutes later, Julian Brandt pushed through to Haaland, who put the ball precisely into the far right corner (49th).

After Plattenhardt's erratic back pass, Haaland splashed in between, rounded keeper Schwolow and hit the third (62nd).

The decision was up to Guerreiro with a purposeful hit (70th).

Akanji fouled Matteo Guendouzi (79th), but only 44 seconds after Cunha's brace from the point, Haaland scored the 5: 2 (80th).

What is presented in halftime two is quickly told: Berliners acting inconsistently offensive, Dortmunders in a brilliantly playful manner.

No homeland love:

The capital city, who won against Augsburg after five games without a win before the international break, did not leave the field victorious in the Olympic Stadium this season.

The specially designed special jerseys and homage to the Berlin cityscape didn't help either.

Moved up:

After the stumbling blocks of Bayern against Bremen and Leipzig in Frankfurt, Dortmund are more

lurking

than ever and have even made up a place in the table.

A measly counter on the record champions remains.
