Maradona had been hospitalized in early November
Diego Maradona had been hospitalized for eight days at the beginning of November in order to undergo an operation on the head, he suffered from a subdural hematoma.
The 1986 world champion was treated for anemia and dehydration on November 2 in La Plata, a city 60 km from Buenos Aires.
Diego Maradona's lawyer, Matias Morla, said his client was "going through perhaps the most difficult time of his life".
"What he needs now is to be with his family and to be surrounded by health professionals. With the doctors and his family, Diego will be as he should be: happy," he added.

The death confirmed by the spokesperson for the former player
The Argentine press via two media, Clarin and La Nacion, announced shortly before 6:00 p.m. the death of one of the greatest football players in history.
The information was confirmed a few minutes later by the player's spokesperson.
