In Argentina it was hard to accept the hard news and also across the globe, the whole sports world stopped to honor the memory of the little-big man.
The Brazilian football legend Pele also said goodbye to Maradona: "Sad to lose a friend, one day we kicked a ball together in the sky."
Dallas star Luka Doncic was quick to tweet: "Maradona, rest in peace."
Iker Casillas added: "A day of mourning for world football, Maradona has passed away. Goodbye genius."
