Buenos Aires-SANA

Argentine media announced today the death of football legend Diego Armando Maradona, at the age of 60, after suffering a heart attack.

According to Argentine newspaper Clarín, "Maradona suffered a heart attack while in Tigre."

Some pictures showed ambulances outside Maradona's home to take him to a more specialized clinic, but the legend of Argentine football was dead.

Maradona recently underwent surgery to remove a blood clot from his head.

Maradona is considered by many to be the best player in football history and has participated in four World Cups, including Mexico in 1986, where he led Argentina to victory over West Germany in the final and won the Ballon d'Or as the best player in the tournament.

Maradona is also one of the controversial sports figures, as he was suspended from football for 15 months in 1991 after he was found to have drug abuse in Italy and he coached the Argentina national team in 2008 with an eighteen-month contract until his contract expired after the 2010 World Cup.
