The Argentine judiciary announced the start of an investigation with the personal physician of soccer legend Diego Armando Maradona on the suspicion of "manslaughter".
Argentine "Tudo Noticias" channel reported today that the Argentine public prosecutor has begun an investigation with Leopoldo Luc, the personal doctor of Maradona, on suspicion of "unintentional murder" and not providing him with assistance, noting that the investigation against Locke began based on the testimonies of Maradona's daughters who questioned the doctor's actions.
The channel pointed to the prosecution's request to know whether Maradona's death involved medical negligence as a result of his failure to obtain the necessary medical assistance.
Earlier, an Argentine court ordered a search of the home and clinic of Leopoldo Locke, to determine the circumstances surrounding Maradona's death.
The Italian star of Napoli and the Argentina national team at the end of the eighties and the beginning of the nineties of the last century died at his home last Wednesday in the town of Tigre, 30 kilometers north of the capital Buenos Aires, due to acute secondary pulmonary edema and the exacerbation of chronic heart failure.
