When Laura Freilang approached the Greek goalkeeper Tatiana Gevriilidou in the 70th minute, she made the wrong decision for the first time that evening in Ingolstadt.
She put the ball aside unselfishly, apparently she had already satisfied her own hunger for goals.
In the 6-0 (4-0) of the DFB-Elf in the European Championship qualification, Freilang had long since perfected her hat-trick, she scored all goals in the first half (21st minute, 39th, 45th).
Central defender Martina Hegering took the lead (17th), after Linda Dallmann increased (72nd), Paulina Krumbiegel made the final score (90th).
The Greeks are not a benchmark for the German team, as was shown last year in the 5-0 win in the first leg.
And that was also evident after the final whistle.
As can be seen on TV pictures, two Greek reserve players in winter jackets ran in the direction of Dzsenifer Marozsán despite the high defeat, apparently asked Germany's best footballer for a photo and took a selfie with her.
They seemed to be more fans than rivals.
In other spheres
The Greek national team plays in different spheres than the German;
The Greeks have never qualified for one of the major tournaments.
Only in 2004 did they host the Olympic Games.
In addition, many Greek players currently have no match practice, unlike in Germany, the Greek women's league is still paused due to the corona crisis.
With the runaway victory, the team of national coach Martina Voss-Tecklenburg once again showed why it is the dominant team in qualification group I.
After seven games, the goal difference is now 43: 0.
In the last group game on Tuesday Ireland (6 p.m., live ticker SPIEGEL.de), which is still fighting for second place.
Germany has been the group winners since the Irish women lost 1-0 to Ukraine last month.
