Former Barcelona club president Juan Laporta announced his candidacy for the upcoming club elections, after the departure of Josep Maria Bartomeu.
Sky Sports reported that Laporta officially announced today his intention to run in the Barcelona elections scheduled for next January.
Laporta took over the presidency of Barcelona during the period between 2003 and 2010 and the team under his leadership was able to win the Spanish League four times, the Spanish Super Cup three times, the European Champions League twice, the European Super Cup and the Club World Cup.
