Merkel calls for a Europe-wide ban until January - and Söder is making their passion more difficult for skiing fans by taking further measures.
In the latest Corona rules, under the heading “Deepening”, it says that “Tourist day trips or leisure activities abroad, such as skiing, are avoidable sources of risk”.
Therefore, the previous option of quarantine-free small border traffic abroad for up to 24 hours no longer applies for tourist or sporting purposes.

One is a little disappointed that it is already certain that nothing can happen, says Margit Wisheu, board member of the Mauerner Skiclub.
“That'll be pretty bitter.
But it is what it is, everyone understands so far.
We clubs will certainly not rebel against politics. ”At the moment, the walls had already decided to cancel the traditional children's and youth ski course at the end of December / beginning of January.
“We do not want to commit ourselves to the board of directors for the next dates from mid-January.
There is no more pre-planning and then canceled again.
We'll first wait and see how things develop before we go into concrete planning again, ”Wisheu outlines the next steps.
With the newly acquired registration system, it should be possible to arrange something at short notice as soon as it is possible again.
She expects that will be in mid-January at the earliest.
In order to enable at least the ski club bambini to have a ride on the boards this winter, the board of directors is considering purchasing a synthetic ski carpet.
But you have to take a closer look at that and weigh up the costs, says Wisheu.
At the Au Ski Club, following the announcements of the politicians, the management team agreed in a conference call to cancel the opening trip in mid-December.
“Ultimately, of course, we obey the orders.
Honestly, due to the location, there were no registrations for this ski event, ”said Chairman Klaus Brendel.
With a heavy heart, the Christmas party in December had to be canceled.
But what is still going very well at the Au Ski Club is the online offer of power fitness training.
According to Brendel, there are just as many people there as there are in the units in the hall.

Other dates in the Auer ski calendar, such as the youth trip during the Christmas holidays, will be allowed to exist for the time being.
“We'll just wait and see what politics does.
And as bad as it is for us, it would also be possible to cancel at short notice, ”says Klaus Brendel, explaining the next steps.
Especially since for many events binding registrations would only come in shortly before the dates.
Only for the three-day ski trip of the youth in March 2021 has a significant number of registrations already been received, says the ski club chairman.
“Personally, the back and forth of politicians annoys me now,” Brendel admits frankly.
“On the one hand, the children are sent to school and the parents to work.
You go there by bus, S-Bahn and train and have many contacts.
On the other hand, you can only meet up with a friend or another household in your free time. ”Even recreational sports in the fresh air are restricted.
“I don't understand some things anymore,” says the club boss.
"In my opinion, it would be almost better if you shut everything down again for five weeks and then have the chance that things continue to be reasonably normal."
