The Football Association is expected to announce next week that Israel national team coach Willy Rotensteiner will continue in his position for at least another year.
A decision in principle on the issue has already been made by the members of the search committee, which appointed Eli Ohana, Eli Cohen, Oren Hasson and Shino Zoarz.
The management of the association has a majority that supports the continuation of the Austrian path.
The position of the players can be defined by consensus.
As reported in "Israel Today", Rotensteiner was the preferred candidate in the first place.
Such and other political elements tried to push for the appointment of Yossi Aboksis, but the move did not materialize.
Only if something very unexpected happens will the Austrian not continue in his role.
The second issue to be examined is that of the staffing of the technical director for the Israeli national team, the previous position of the Austrian.
The possibility of bringing Rotensteiner back to this position and appointing a coach under him has also come up as a possibility, although at the moment it seems rather tenuous.
Next year, only three games are expected for the Israeli team.
The release of the current coach before the end of his contract with the Football Association will cost almost NIS 700,000, so the financial issue is also a major consideration in decision-making.
However, even at the professional level, Rotensteiner is given priority.
"A lot of players turned to Oren Hasson so that he would not make a change in the position of the coach," said a senior member of the association. "I do not remember such a thing with other coaches.
