Canceling the 2020 Beijing Marathon as a precaution to confront Corona virus

Today, the organizers of the Beijing Marathon announced the cancellation of the 2020 edition as part of the preventive measures adopted against the Coronavirus pandemic.

The Chinese news agency Xinhua stated that the cancellation comes despite the fact that the Chinese capital has not recorded local cases of coronavirus for several months, with the exception of infections from abroad, noting that canceling the marathon is the first in 40 years.

And on Thursday, the National Health Commission in China announced the registration of 16 new cases of the virus, all of people coming from abroad.
