Football: despite the green light, amateur clubs are playing it safe ...

2020-12-04T19:58:46.111Z

While the FFF informed the clubs by means of a circular and then during a videoconference, this Thursday, some clubs are still hesitant to resume

The dialogue of the deaf between Jean Castex and Noël Le Graët, the president of the French Football Federation (FFF) on Wednesday left traces.

In three hours, the Prime Minister, who had buried the Coupe de France, was contradicted by the boss of French football.

Suddenly, no one is there.

Despite circulars sent to clubs and a webinar (on the FFF website) organized this Thursday around the resumption of training, many clubs are in the dark.

However, the FFF was clear: “Minors and adults can resume training since November 28,” explains Pierre Samsonoff, director of the Amateur Football League (LFA).

A well-supervised recovery since it must strictly comply with health measures, namely physical distancing and barrier gestures.

This is a gradual recovery without contact.

Contactless recovery possible for minors and adults

It is in this case, and only, that the amateur clubs began for some to resume training.

Like Claye-Souilly, the Regional 1 club, which resumed Monday evening.

"We have scrupulously respected the circular sent by the FFF," explains William Longuet, the general manager of the Seine-et-Marne club.

Even though these are races for the most part, it is still safer to do so in our stadium, rather than in the streets or in the forest.

“Other clubs are still reluctant to take the plunge.

This is particularly the case of Mohamed Tazamoucht, the coach of Ivry (N3).

“All the announcements are quite contradictory.

We want to stay legal.

This is why we get as much information as possible to be sure not to do anything.

"

The competition in January?

In the scenario presented this Thursday during the FFF seminar, Pierre Samsonoff indicates: “From now on, clubs can train without contact.

We hope that from December 15, training can take place with contact.

If this is the case, we can consider a resumption of competitions in early January.

But we will not do anything without the green light from the state.

"

Regarding the resumption of competitions, the boss of amateur football is precise: “It is already clear that the championship will not take place as initially planned at the start of the season.

We work to ensure that the competitions end in a consistent manner.

No one will be asked to play every three days to catch up.

We must also anticipate new postponements of matches due to cases of Covid in clubs.

This is why our job is to lighten our competitions as much as possible with alternative ends.
