The third handball league for women and men, which lies in the gray area between amateur and professional sport, and the female and male youth league (JBLH) were initially interrupted until mid-November and then until the end of December.
Now the association announced another extension of the season break until January 31st.

“You could count on it a bit,” says Stefanie Mittasch, trainer of the third division women at HSG Würm-Mitte.
In view of the continued high number of infections, an early return to gaming appears difficult to implement.
In a nationwide survey among all participants in the third women's leagues, a majority of the clubs also stated that they currently have no training opportunities in the hall.
“The priority is still to resume training as continuously as possible, where this is justifiable with regard to the infection process.
This is the basis for the resumption of game operations, ”says a press release from the German Handball Federation (DHB).
HSG Würm-Mitte: Handball training, yes, but only in small groups
In this respect you can count yourself lucky in the Würmtal.
Würm-Mittes first women's team, like the female A-youth, is allowed to train as a member of the youth league even after the “Lockdown light” comes into force.
Because the municipality of Graefelfing followed the classification of the DHB, which counts the third division and JBLH clubs in the field of professional sports.
Mittasch sees a real competitive advantage for the third division climber, who started the season with three defeats, but not as a result.
Even if it were theoretically permitted, the HSG does not conduct regular team training.
“We decided that together, also to avoid the risk of quarantining the entire team,” explains Mittasch.
The Würmtaler Wildcats train twice a week in groups of four and try to adhere to the rules of distance.
Euphoria about second season in 3rd division and first season in JBLH slowed
It works on strength and technique.
Of course, it is difficult for the players to train without a clear goal in mind and to prepare for new starting dates, says Mittasch.
“But we're trying to make the best of the situation.
Now we have the luxury of working individually, which otherwise often doesn't have the time during the season. "
The euphoria about the second third division season in the club's history is currently slowed, as is the first-time participation in the youth league.
It is already clear that the game mode in the 3rd League South will in all probability have to be adjusted, and it will be difficult to maintain the game schedule in JBLH as well.
Handball: The new restart date in 2021 is already shaky
It is clear to Mittasch that all teams have to return to training four to five weeks before a possible restart, simply because of the risk of injury.
If there are still not training opportunities for all teams in January, the next restart date threatens to be canceled.
