Celebration of Shabbat goals in the Bundesliga (Sports 1)

Once upon a time, when he was a little boy, Circassian Angelino put everyone on the field and scored non-stop, but did not like to deliver.

So his coach in the tiny group in his hometown somewhere in Galicia, in northwestern Spain, offered him a reward for every cooking - a two-euro coin.

It worked huge, and according to the new laws, Angelinio preferred to look for his friends.

And he did it great.

Reports of it soon spread throughout the province, and scouts from Deportivo La Coruna came to be impressed.

By the age of 10 he was already in her academy.

When he was 15, offers from the affluent luxury clubs also began to flow.

The two top options were, of course, Real Madrid and Barcelona.

The rivalry for the Clásico enjoys fighting for the signing of young talent across Spain, and the skinny left-back has certainly been defined as such.

Then Castilla and La Masia were on the agenda, but then Manchester City also joined the celebration, and it soon became clear that she was the winner in the chase, for a special reason.

"I wanted to learn English," Angelino explained in retrospect, "I did not know if I would really be able to turn football into a profession, and I preferred to have a B program. You should know foreign languages, especially English, when you are looking for work. So that was the main consideration."

Did not know if football would become a profession, so he prepared a plan B.

The journey is over, it's time for a permanent home

And if he is already learning languages and cultures, then Manchester City has provided him with a comprehensive education.

He was sent on loan to New York City, where he met David Villa, and then - after short tenures in Girona and Mallorca - also got to learn Dutch, when he was loaned to Breda, and then sold to Eindhoven.

The success of coach Marc van Bommel in the 2018/19 season, at the end of which he was selected as the best young player in the Netherlands, convinced City to realize the purchase clause back, but then - after only half a season - it was decided to loan him again.

Since January, Angelinio has been studying German in Leipzig, and for him it's time to stop the journey around the world.

The Galician feels great with the Red Bulls, and these days he is looking for a home to buy.

A month before his 24th birthday, stability is the key word, because otherwise his career could be lost.

"I want to play for a team that believes in me," he claims - Julian Naglesman believed in him from the first moment.

He made his Leipzig debut two days after his signing.

For the baptism of fire in the Bundesliga he was thrown in the scariest stadium of all, against Bayern Munich at the Allianz Arena, and Leipzig kept it clean on a very enjoyable 0-0 draw.

The coach even adapted the method in order to reach the potential of the Spaniard, diverted Marcel Halstenberg to the brake trio, and gave Angelini his entire left wing.

On the other hand, he feels like a fish in water even in the classic left-back position at 1-3-2-4.

It delivers the goods in any condition and under any conditions, and the Corona has also failed to disrupt the plans.

The method was also adapted to it.

City erred professionally and financially

Originally, the plague actually worked against him.

She stopped the great momentum he developed at the beginning of his term in Leipzig, did not allow the coaching staff to reach far-reaching conclusions about his ability, and also hurt the club financially.

In early June, when his purchase option for € 30 million could be exercised under the contract, Naglesman preferred to give up.

"We have no financial means. The budget has tightened, and we must maintain that framework," he explained sadly.

Luckily for Leipzig, and especially for Angelino, the loan period was extended in September, after excelling in the final rounds of the league and galloping to the Champions League semi-finals, this time including a clause requiring the Germans to buy his ticket for only 18 million euros, provided he appears in a limited number of games. .

Looking at his current fitness, this deal is no less delusional in terms of Pep Guardiola.

Manchester City spend very high sums on defensive players, but the left-back position somehow has always remained problematic.

Benjamin Mendy is suffering from countless injuries, so she is often manned by Ukrainian midfielder Alexander Zinchenko, or right-back Joao Canselo who was signed by Juventus for £ 60m. Why do it when you have a promising player brought in? Already at the age of 16? Angelinio was sent to Eindhoven in 2018 for 5.5 million euros, returned at a loss for 12 million euros after a great season during which he provided 12 touchdowns - and yet barely got chances and was left. In Leipzig, also defensively, but mostly offensively, with direct involvement in nine goals this season.

His left defensive position remained problematic.

Roberto Carlos style touches

No kidding - The energetic defender is Leipzig's top scorer in the Bundesliga at the start of the season, with four goals in nine games.

His confidence was so high that he even found the net with a shot against Schalke - then also scored in victories over Augsburg, Freiburg and Bielefeld, and added cooking to achieve an important equalizer in Frankfurt.

In the first round of the Champions League, he excelled with the first duo of his career that yielded 0-2 over Istanbul in Shakhtar, then set about the craft of cooking.

A smart ball from the wing gave Christopher Anconco a nice goal in a 1: 2 victory over PSG, and if you missed the assist to Danny Ulmo in 3: 4 over the Turks on Wednesday, you should look for him.

Such elegant rotating dedications with the outer part of the foot are not seen every day, and on them you get much more than a two-euro coin.

This performance was reminiscent of Roberto Carlos, who was and remains the great idol of Angelinio.

"He was the best of them all. I loved watching his games, and I still watch them online for my enjoyment. Marcelo is also an excellent defender when he gallops forward. Like them, I mostly prefer to attack, and this is possible here in Leipzig because we try to win balls through high pressure and make quick passes. "Our game is fast, direct and purposeful, and I enjoy it. Naglesman is very suitable for me," he says.

The coach praises him non-stop.

"Angelino is not nice just when he is not playing, and it has happened maybe twice since he arrived. He always wants to be involved, always on the field, always wants to win. He does not get off the field after training, but stays and trains a little more alone. He has an uncontrollable urge "In short, he's very similar to me, so we have a common language, but we have to say he came after working with a great coach, so I will not take the credit for myself. Angelino worked with Guardiola, so his acclimatization period was particularly short," says Naglesman.

"We have a common language."

A golden opportunity to take revenge on United

Even the Spaniard himself does not have a bad word for the previous boss.

"I improved a lot in the period with Guardiola, and I'm much more tactically savvy now, with and without the ball. I guess it allows me to feel more confident on the pitch, and to dare even more," he says.

Why, then, is he a partner in just 12 games for Pep, including only six in the league?

Was there a disappointment with the ability he demonstrated in losses to Liverpool and Manchester United in late 2019?

Currently, there are no answers to these issues, but Angelino is not sorry.

He has no desire to go back and risk any loan again.

His future will be in Leipzig, which will have no trouble finding 18 million to sign him.

Even in the worst case scenario financially, it is always possible to sell it for a much higher amount because its market price has soared.

He may rise even higher in the coming days, if he continues to conquer and cook in Leipzig’s next two big games.

On Saturday, Leipzig, who are currently ranked second in the table, will be hosted by the champion and leader, who is two points ahead of them.

Will he manage not to absorb again, as in the February premiere?

Then, on Tuesday, the Red Bulls must defeat the Red Devils in a direct battle for a place in the Champions League quarter-finals.

Games against Manchester United do not bring any luck to Angelinio yet, and after the loss with City he was also defeated 5: 0 with Leipzig at Old Trafford in October.

Now is a great opportunity for revenge, and on the way to making his former friends at City happy too.

Who knows, maybe then Guardiola will also Japanese the strength of the default, and Luis Enrique will finally invite him to the team.
